First in Outdoor Solutions designs and makes landscapes that work, and makes them beautiful.

We specialise in landscape design and construction for residential projects in the northern suburbs of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. We also have specialised skills with paving solutions. Our studio and showroom is in Essendon, about 20 minutes drive north of the Melbourne CBD.

Our Philosophy

The field of Landscape Design represents an outstanding opportunity to beautify people's surroundings and to maintain a level of social and personal interaction with natural things that enhances not only our own life experience but the lives of those around us.

It's an opportunity to resolve and enhance the spaces we inhabit in such a way as to act positively on our relationships with space and with our own aesthetic experience. Through landscaping we can engage aesthetically with the natural world in its own language, and then draw on that language to create enriched spaces for living, for entertaining and for being.

We think of landscape design as an opportunity more than just a means to an end. It's a process that simultaneously calls into play the lives of plants, of people, societies and the living world, and one which fueled by the vernacular of nature, the textures and contexts of history and the potentials of contemporary living makes the art and practice of garden-making a unique craft.
